Hilltribe Heritage concept
All the products we sell are unique and hand-made.
We collect old and antique pieces of clothes in the rural area, looking for the most interesting patterns, and we transform them into different pieces of decoration or accessories. My sisters are doing the weaving in the village.
Usually the products we propose are made of hemp, traditional batik and embroideries, mostly from H’mong communities but also from other ethnic group as well. What choose carefully our fabrics, looking for is authenticity and history.
We would love to give you more details about our work, feel free to contact me in my shop or by email.
We have a wide range of products available :
Usually, the process for creating these pieces start in the garden :
Hemp
It is the main fiber used by the H’mong tribe. After harvest, it is boiled in ash water, and washed in the river.
Indigo
Planted high in the forest, it is the plant used for dyeing. It is what gives the items this particular dark/blue color.

The process after harvesting hemp and indigo
Weaving : Hemp fiber is weaved in a standing loom to create a plain weave fabric.
Dyeing : After the leaves are fermented, the fabric is immersed in the indigo dye, then hung up to oxydise into the distinct blue color.
After the fabrics those technics are used
Batik : intricate patterns are drawn into the fabric with hot bee wax and a brass pen.
Embrodery : Multiple stitch types are used and a special red and white applique is layered creating a 3D effect.
